Anniversary celebration will honor history and support future initiatives serving survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, or general crime.
Cornerstone, a nonprofit organization founded in 1983 by a group of forward-thinking and caring volunteers in Bloomington, Minnesota, is proud to celebrate 40 years of providing life-changing programs for individuals experiencing domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, and general crime. Since the beginning, Cornerstone has expanded in size, services, and geographic footprint to connect individuals in crisis with support and safety across not only in the Twin Cities, but the entire state of Minnesota.
With 40 years of experience, Cornerstone has developed a holistic continuum of survivor-centered services for individuals who have experienced violence and abuse. These services include immediate crisis intervention including a statewide Day One Minnesota Crisis Line (1-866-223-1111), emergency shelter services, criminal and civil justice intervention, transitional housing, financial empowerment, clinical therapy, school-based violence prevention, and general crime relief and assistance. Through it all, Cornerstone remains committed to serving our community, meeting the changing needs of our participants, with the ultimate goal of ending violence all together.
To mark this milestone, Cornerstone will be hosting a 40th Anniversary Luncheon Fundraiser on October 27, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Minnesota Valley Country Club in Bloomington. This event is an opportunity to honor those who have made our growth possible, reflect on our agency’s strength and accomplishments, and look forward as we continue providing critical services for survivors across our community.
We expect approximately 300 attendees at the Luncheon Fundraiser, including past and present Cornerstone staff and volunteers, Cornerstone board members, generous sponsors and donors, elected officials, law enforcement, and other community members who share the common goal of supporting survivors of domestic violence and creating a safer community for all. By attending the Luncheon Fundraiser, attendees will contribute to the continuation of our vital programs that change lives and empower survivors. Together, we can make a difference and create a future without violence and abuse.
