Donate Stock or Marketable Securities
In most cases, current tax law allows donors to claim the full market value of appreciated assets, such as stock or other securities, as a tax deduction in the year of the gift–effectively avoiding capital gains taxes on long-term holdings.

Make a Planned Gift
If you would like to make Cornerstone part of your charitable giving legacy, please consider including our organization in your estate planning.
If you choose to do so, here is some sample language for a bequest to guide you and your attorney:
“I give, devise and bequeath to Cornerstone Advocacy Service, a Minnesota non-profit corporation _____ (insert sum, percentage, or description of property) to be used for (general purpose or details of specific purpose).”

Donate In-kind Goods
Due to limited storage space, we can only accept items listed below. All items must be new, unused and with tags on. Thank you for thinking of Cornerstone.
We are only able to accept the following items at this time. Last updated August 2023
- School supplies, especially pencils and notebooks
- $25-50 gift cards to big-box stores and grocery stores (Walmart, Target, etc.) so we can be flexible in meeting the most immediate needs of our participants
Cornerstone is unable to accept the following items at any time:
- Any used or gently-used items
- Any items with opened or damaged packaging
- Any items purchased more than one year ago
- Clothing
- Furniture
- Travel-sized / hotel-size personal care items and toiletries
- Medications
- Perishable food
