A completed volunteer application, interview and background check is required prior to volunteering with Cornerstone.

Volunteer Opportunities for Individuals
Cornerstone offers a variety of one-time and long-term volunteer opportunities for individuals looking to donate their time and talents. All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. Play, create art, read books, and tend to infants while their parents attend support groups. Shifts are 1.5 hours on Monday evenings, Tuesday days and evenings and Thursday days.
Maintenance / Landscaping
Share your skills or trade to help maintain the emergency shelter and transitional housing units. Assist with landscaping needs to keep our grounds welcoming for clients. No experience is required.
Support the volunteer department by assisting with database entry, organizing volunteer groups, clerical support and participating in special events.
Support our development department by assisting at special events geared toward raising awareness and support for Cornerstone’s programs. Tasks may include pre-event support, room set up, staffing information tables, or photographing the event. Most events are during the evening or on weekends.
Answer calls to our 24-Hour helpline and provide assistance and support to the women and families in our shelter.
Volunteer Opportunities for Groups
Cornerstone offers a variety of one-time volunteer opportunities for business teams, religious organizations, Rotaries, giving clubs and other groups looking to donate their time and talents. All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. A completed volunteer application, interview and background check is required prior to volunteering with Cornerstone. Prepare and serve a meal for 40-50 Cornerstone clients on Tuesday night from approximately 4-7 p.m. with dinner served at 5:30 p.m. A great opportunity for groups.
Host a Party
Use your imagination and creativity to organize a party for children in our shelter and community programs. Crafts, games, face painting, art projects are some of the many activities groups have done. Good for groups of any size.
Play outside and BBQ with our guests in the summer! Cornerstone will provide the grills. Good for groups of 4-10 people.
Organizing a donation drive is a great way to help Cornerstone’s clients. The drive can be for a variety of needed goods, including baby products or household items. Learn more about our Current Needs.
Clean and sanitize our lounge areas and playrooms to help eliminate the spread of germs. Generally, we ask that groups be no more than 10 people.
Every December, our clients’ children have the opportunity to choose and wrap gifts to give to their parent and siblings. These gifts come from our generous donors and volunteers. During December, we have many volunteer opportunities including:
