Cornerstone Welcomes Incoming Executive Director, Meg Schnabel

Dear Friends of Cornerstone Advocacy Service,

As we communicated to you last March, Susan Neis, Cornerstone’s Executive Director of 29 years, has decided to retire at the end of 2014. This letter is to inform you that a new Executive Director, Meg Schnabel, has been hired and began her employment with Cornerstone on Monday, October 6th.

Meg is an experienced and passionate leader with over 15 years of experience as a non-profit CEO/Executive Director. Her most recent experience was serving as the CEO/Executive Director for the last 13 years at Redevelopment Opportunities for Women, a non-profit providing an array of comprehensive services for survivors of domestic violence in the St. Louis, Missouri area. Meg’s undergraduate degree is from Drake University and she has a Master’s Degree from Washington University. She has received many awards for leadership including the “White House Champion of Change Award” in 2011 for outstanding work for developing innovative services for victims of domestic violence.

Susan and Meg will be working together to ensure a smooth leadership transition over the months ahead. The board has worked hard to find an executive director that will carry forward the mission and service levels that Susan and the Cornerstone Team have become known for over the last 29 years.

Please join me in thanking Susan for her leadership and dedication to Cornerstone and extend a warm welcome to Meg as she carries forward the mission of the agency.

Thank you for your continued support and partnering with Cornerstone.

Dick Strassburg, Board Chair
